Terms of use

The rules for using Storyscene.

Storyscene legalv3.1Effective 1 Oct 2026

1. What Storyscene is

Storyscene is a browser-based visual preproduction tool for planning scenes, blocking, camera positions, focal lengths, lighting, sun position, timing, shot lists, storyboards and related exports.

These Terms govern use of the Storyscene website, web application, accounts, cloud projects, sharing features, exports and paid plans.

Storyscene is operated by Mohammed Bellouki. For product, account or privacy support, contact [email protected].

2. Guest, Free, Pro and future plans

Storyscene can be used as a Guest without an account for product discovery and local browser work. A Storyscene account enables supported cloud features.

Storyscene currently offers Free and Pro. Studio may be displayed as coming soon but is not sold until the corresponding collaboration features are actually available.

Current features and limits are described on Pricing. Reasonable technical anti-abuse safeguards may apply even where a capability is described as unlimited.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for activity through your account and for keeping your authentication methods secure. Storyscene may support email/password and third-party sign-in methods.

You must be at least 16 years old to create or use a Storyscene account. If you are under 18, you may buy a paid plan only with the agreement of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Paid subscriptions and Paddle

Paid subscriptions are purchased through Paddle. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. The price, billing interval, taxes and any introductory discount are shown before checkout.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before renewal. Eligible billing self-service is available through My account, under Plans & billing, which opens the Paddle Customer Portal.

Storyscene does not store your payment-card number. Paddle’s buyer terms and refund rules also apply to the payment transaction, without limiting mandatory consumer rights.

5. Your content

You retain your rights in project content you create or upload. You grant Storyscene only the limited rights technically necessary to store, process, display, synchronize, export and share that content as you instruct through the service.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions required for uploaded content, including personal information about cast, crew or other people.

6. Local and cloud storage

Guest work may be stored locally in your browser and may be lost if browser/device storage is cleared. Supported cloud data is stored through Storyscene’s cloud infrastructure when the relevant account features are used.

Export important projects periodically. No browser or online storage system can guarantee that data will never be lost.

7. Share links

Storyscene may let you create read-only project or scene links. A valid capability link acts as the access key, so anyone who receives it may be able to view the shared content without signing in.

Do not include information in shared content that recipients of the link should not see. Supported links can be revoked and may expire depending on the sharing mode or plan.

8. Permitted use

Subject to these Terms, Storyscene gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the service for personal or professional preproduction. Product exports may be used in commercial productions subject to plan-specific watermark or branding rules shown in the product.

9. Prohibited use

  • Do not bypass plan limits, entitlement checks or security controls.
  • Do not access accounts, projects, systems or protected assets without authorization.
  • Do not automate abusive volumes of accounts, projects, share links or requests.
  • Do not republish or redistribute Storyscene as a competing or rebranded service.
  • Do not use Storyscene to violate law or third-party rights.

10. Storyscene intellectual property

Storyscene’s software, interface, product design, brand, original assets and documentation remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Open-source components remain subject to their own licenses, including Three.js under the MIT License.

11. Planning estimates

Distances, framing, field of view, lighting previews, sun positions, heights, timing and similar outputs are preproduction estimates based on simplified models and the information you enter. Verify important production decisions on location.

12. Availability and changes

Storyscene may be updated, maintained, interrupted or changed over time for product, security, reliability or compliance reasons.

13. Suspension

Access may be restricted or suspended when reasonably necessary to protect Storyscene, users or third parties, including in cases of abuse, security incidents, fraud, non-payment or material breach.

14. Disclaimers and liability

Storyscene is provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Storyscene does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation or fitness for a specific production outcome.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.

15. Governing rules

These Terms are subject to applicable law. Mandatory consumer rights and mandatory jurisdiction rules remain unaffected.

16. Changes

The applicable version is identified by its effective date. Material changes may be communicated in the product, by email, or by another reasonable method where required.
